i'm using my iphone in thailand right now, and i'm being charged for edge access that I don't want... can somebody tell me how to turn it off from my phone?

Thanks in advance

If I want to stop data access I go into settings>general>network>cellular data network then I just change the APN slightly.

(I do this because I couldn't find any other way to turn off edge. Even though I stopped mail checks and wasn't touching safari some apps were still downloading things)

Settings > General > Network > "Data Roaming: Off"

That will stop your iPhone using any data services whilst abroad and will automatically reactivate once you're home again.

Are you jailbroken? If not have you ever considered it?

There's a great mod called SBSettings that gives you instant access to multiple toggles straight from the springboard including Edge, 3G, Location Services, Wifi, etc.

Very handy.
