How does iMessage sync work

If I log my Apple ID on someone else’s phone will all my past messages sync with their IPhone? I know while I am logged in any iMessages I send will or receive will appear on their device but will they also see my old messages? Will the messages still appear on their device once I log out?

It shouldn’t, but I wouldn’t recommend logging into iMessage on someone else’s device. You don’t want something happening and your account accidentally getting tied to there phone number.

Don’t do it. The risk of a cockup is too great.

Why would you want to put your Apple ID into some device that’s not yours?
