Other How does In-Store pick-up work in the US?

I will be in LA on the 22nd to 24th and in Honolulu for a week after.

If I would decide to preorder an iPhone XS Max for in store pick up (is that even available?) how big is the time frame to pick it up? Does it have to be on the same day they say it’s ready for pick up or do I have a few days to pick it up?

If I remember correctly from last year - you picked an available time from the store - don't remember if that could be several days away. I would think you could call and ask

Just remember, Hawaii has a 4% sales tax. California is at 7.25%

Availability is something else altogether.

My local store had a separate line for preorders. It makes it go a little faster if the store is busy.

yeah but lets say i pre-order one for Honolulu on Friday but the pick up date is faster than i expected, for example on the 21th already, would i still be able to pick it up on lets say monday the 24th?
