How does Siri pronounce contacts with emoji in name?

Siri used to pronounce a contact named "Girl ❤️" as just "Girl", but after iOS9.3 it changed to "Girl red heart".
Is this fixed in iOS10?
I use emojis to sort my contacts (work, family, hobby etc) but I get really annoyed every time Siri pronounces it.

I hope not or else my girlfriend will no longer be referred to as "smiling pile of poo".
