There are plenty of unboxing and "reviews" of these Airpods everywhere, but literally nobody really explain how Apple achieve the seamless pairing with the W1/H1 chip. People are only saying it's due to the W1/H1 chip. But how? I mean am I the only one who is curious how Apple did all of these even with old bluetooth 4.1 (as the Airpods will work with older pre Bt5.0 iPhones)?

I think the "seamless pairing" is overhyped. My Jabra Elite 65T pair just as well and have fewer connection reliability issues than my AirPods Pro.

I'm under the impression that the AirPods stay connected to all your nearby Apple devices even though only 1 device is actually transmitting audio. Is that right? And is it different to what typical Bluetooth earphones do?

EDIT: I guess it's important in this discussion to make a distinction between initial pairing, and everyday connecting/switching.

Well, nobody knows, because nobody seems to be curious how it works.

Seamless.... bulls***! There isn’t a single day where I put them on and they work right away more than three times in a row. Either the microphone doesn’t work or one bud stays off or they are out of sync..

Apple is good just for its marketing nowadays
