Something I can tell you with assurance:
You DON'T want the "base level" Mac Mini.
It has a platter-based hard drive, only 4gb of RAM, and you will find it to be VERY slow.
(I realize that "perception of speed" insofar as computers are concerned is a personal matter).
What you DO want in a Mini is at least the "midrange" model, which comes with 8gb of RAM and a better GPU. You ALSO want the 1tb fusion drive upgrade (which contains both a 120gb SSD and a 1tb HDD).
Buy the base model Mini, and you'll be back here asking, "how can I speed this thing up?"
