How durable are MacBook Airs? I bumped mine on the wall near the hinge and It looks fine. I take good care of my Mac but I can't be so carful that I worry so much about it that I don't even use it.

there
My fell 3 feet in 2018 thanks to my cat who knocked that over.
everything worked except for the q-p keys which i fixed 2019 dec 26th.
they seem tough depending how they MacBook, or any laptop lands.

I would grab both sides and tilt that slightly,
if nothing is moving like a screw or part, the MBA should be fine.

I regularly carry mine around in a satchel-style bag with minimal padding, I'd say it gets bumped around a fair bit in there - I know for a fact I accidentally smacked it into a wall while I was running for a lift last week. So far I haven't seen even the slightly scuff or scratch on it, and no signs of any hardware issues. No moving parts to damage + a very sturdy (for the most part) chassis is probably why.

I used to have an older MBP with a mechanical HDD in it several years ago, and that didn't make it a full year being carried in the same way before its HDD gave out. So I'd say compared to that the MBA's are very durable.

I have an early 2014 MacBook Air 13 inch, it goes everywhere with me, transport it in a messenger type case, since the actual laptop case I have kinda went awol, and we have had some really cold temperatures in the Chicago area lately.... to the point the aluminum case of the air is so cold that it almost freezes fingers, and it has never missed a beat. Had to replace the battery this year, but that is expected being a 2014 model. NONE OF MY WINDOWS LAPTOPS EVER SURVIVED A YEAR BEING TRANSPORTED EVERYWHERE, like my MacBook Air has.
