I reserved a 32GB Wifi only iPad at an Apple Store near by. The Apple store that I will be picking it up from will open at 9:00 AM. If I show up at 8 would that be too early?

What time will the rest of you (who reserved) be going to the store on April 3rd?

You're probably better off waiting a few hours to avoid the massive rush. As was stated, so long as it's reserved, it'll be waiting for you when you get there (so long as it's before 3 PM)

It might be reserved....but you have to imagine...the possibility of 2 lines.

Pre-Order Lines starts here------

Show up Line starts here---------

Average Wait time might be 10-15 minutes.

I reserved a 16 gig. I plan to swing by the Apple store mid morning or early afternoon when I feel like it. If it's crowded and hectic, I'll investigate if there's a special line for reservations, otherwise I'll leave and order online. It's no skin off my nose if I don't have one in my hands on day 1. OTOH, if I change my mind and definitely want one on day 1, I'll preorder and cancel my reservation. Getting there at 8am when you have a reservation seems overly eager.

I will hit the store at 9am to check out the crowd. It's about 20 min from my house and in an area with lots to do. If the line is stupid, I'll go mess around until about noon and come back.

Don't care when I get it, I just don't want a 3 hour wait since I can't play with my iPad while waiting. :)

Thanks for the replys. I'm glad I asked. I never bought anything "latest and greatest (magical?)" at an Apple store on the first day before- with or without reserving.

I will probably show up closer to opening time.

I plan on arriving at my Apple Store around store opening. I am hoping that they have some on display as I would like to play with one before I actually purchase it. Who knows, I might pick one up and absolutely hate it.

And as you change your mind and begin to head out of the store, the mob blocks your path and pushes you into the cash register . . .

:)

Another thing to consider is whether you want any accessories, since you can't reserve those and I'd imagine they would have somewhat limited stock.

Didn't Apple open at 7am for the 3GS launch to handle reservations? I wonder why that isn't being done for the iPad. Anyway, I'll get there a 9 so I can hopefully be out by 10 and enjoy the rest of the day. Plus no shoppers in the mall at 9 = good parking spot.

I think there will be a big crowd in the stores on 4/3. I was talking with an Apple store employee today and he's all pumped. He started after iPhones were introduced and said all employees in the store are scheduled for that day.

Think im going to have mine delivered to the house. I hate crowds and waiting in line. He thinks the lines will be very big on 4/3.
