After setting my new 13" 128Gb MBA up I've come to realise that I probably can't get by with the 128Gb SSD drive, I probably do need the 256Gb....

How easy is it to trade up? I'll ring Apple and see what they say, just wondering if anyone knew/had done it.

While I could probably do with the i7 too, don't want extra heat/less battery really. I'll ring them tomorrow and see if I can just upgrade the MBA, already redeemed the BTS gift card and opened the printer too :/

Oh ok. Well no extra heat here and great battery. Good luck, hope you get your new one soon.

I thought there was reports of lower battery/higher heat compared to the i5? I am tempted but its another £80....

The first couple of days were a mixed bag of reports as people reloaded their Time Machine backups of their old machines onto the 2011 MBA. Everything I've seen lately from reliable people (Apple Expert and theSeb) show the i7 to have a noticeable difference in speed as well as the i7 to not be really any hotter than the i5 (theSeb).

shhh guys be quiet you're making me want to fork out the extra 350$ for the i7 256 gig as well. But i really don't need it, i only bought this as a transition to the next macbook pro release, i think... Anyway. I have the 128 gig and so far its fine, keep in mind you can use sdxc cards. I have a 64 gig sdxc in mine now, also you can keep your iTunes library and other media on an external wireless server. I have mine set up thru a home pogo plug server and its awesome.

Its £300 more overall, £950 - £1250, but I am planning to keep this for 3 years and do all my photo and maybe even video editing on it....

I'll have to think but I originally ordered as I didn't want to go over £1000.

Cheers for the help guys.
