How effective is Erase All Content in making data in ssd unrecoverable? Any better way?

Hi, from an Apple site on what to do before selling an Apple Silicon Mac, it states that "From the System Preferences menu in the menu bar, choose Erase All Content and Settings".

How effective is this method in making data in the ssd unrecoverable? I know this could be sufficient for most people but for those working in fields that have sensitive information, this approach may not be good enough.

For older laptops, I just took away the drive before selling. For rMBP made before the butterfly keyboard era, I spent a day to do a secured erase via writing lots of 0s and 1s.

What is the best way to make the data in SSD of Apple silicon Mac completely unrecoverable before selling or trading in?

Data is encrypted on an Apple Silicon Mac whether FileVault is on or not, Erasing all content and settings will throw away the encryption keys so any files that "could" be recovered can't be decrypted.

I would hope those in fields with sensitive info would destroy the laptop! Wasteful…but better than a padlock on a basement door.
