So from what I've gathered while browsing the "winterboard screenshots" thread, SSH will be a great help in getting my iPhone set up exactly the way I want. I downloaded and installed OpenSSH via Cydia, but I'm stuck after that. There's no FAQ or How-To on the program and I wasn't able to find anything after sifting through a few pages in the search.

Obviously, my question to you all is simple. How, exactly, do I SSH? I've got the 3G and I've got XP on my computer. Not sure if the latter is important to note, but what the hell? Thanks for any help.

or use iPhoneBrowser.

Yep, there are several applications that let you see your phone's file system via USB.

On the Mac I use PhoneView. I also installed NetaTalk (and the SBSettings Net Talk toggle) from Cydia which enables AppleTalk so it shows up as a shared device.

Diskaid works best for me as it doesn't require a wifi connection. I also like it because you have the ability to drop and drag as you please. No uploading and such.

I googled "iphone 3g ssh windows" and this was the first link that came up. Hope that helps. SSH is easy once you get the hang of it.

That tutorial is so incredibly old. If you're going to pull the Google card, at least post a useful link.

i wanted to try i-FunBox, it keeps trying to connect.. no error, after about 5 minutes i got tired of it and used iPhoneBrowser again :}
