Like what determines whether an app will sync from an iDevice to a computer or from the computer to an iDevice? if i go over to a friend's house and plug my iPhone into his/her computer, would it become a mess of synced apps?

Just trying figure out how this works.

I think it's dependent upon which device intitially downloaded the app(s).

An iPhone won't sync with another computer without being set up to do so, you can only sync to one library, their computer, or yours, it won't put your apps on his computer unless your iPhone has previously synced apps from that computer

Basically, his library, stays his library, and your library stays as yours, you can sync your phone to work with his or yours, but not both.

Your apps are tied to your iTunes account. Apps will only sync between your iOS device and iTunes if the device uses the same iTunes account. Apps downloaded on someone else's account won't work on your device and vice versa.
