How far away will Apple Watch pickup Phone Calls?

The limit here is the range Bluetooth supports. It's about 10 meters, but I have managed to get more range. Even through walls.

When I'm home my phone is usually left in my kitchen and my Pebble seems to pick up notifications just fine anywhere in my house (can't really speak for audio quality). I'm sure the Apple Watch will be similar.

very nice, 10meters is a 30foot radius, thats plenty! very excited for this then!

If you have a Bluetooth headset or speaker, you can test this by pairing the speaker or headset to your phone, start playing music then walk away, carrying the speaker, and see where the sound cuts out.

I just purchased a pair of wireless headphones and last night I walked around my home (1,400 sq ft) while listening to music while my phone was charging in my bedroom.

The watch should be the same thing and a big reason why I purchased the wireless headphones was because I know that the Apple Watch will support it. That and the freedom of no more cord getting in the way.

The Watch has WiFi and BT, right? So as long as the Watch, and your iPhone are both on your home network, it'll work. If you are out and about, the phone will be in your pocket, well within BT range.

I believe the BT that is being used for the connection is different than regular Bluetooth and has a bit greater range. My Garmin fenix 3 will get notifications anywhere in my house, which is a single story, about 1500 sq ft. Even being on the opposite end of the house, it still gets it. I am sure the Watch will match that.

I don't know about the newer iPhones, but with my 4 I was able to connect my Jawbone to it and walk all the way to my mailbox leaving the phone inside (about 60-70 feet through 1 internal and 1 external wall) and the earpiece would maintain a connection. It wouldn't be the greatest and I'm sure it would eat up battery, but it was fine for talking on.

Now when I had my Razr, that phone had crazy BT range.

Close, the BT iPhone connection is supplemented with point to point WiFi. Depending on how Apple implements the secret sauce you could go a little farther than standard BT range.
