how good are MBPs at video editing (FCE)

Just how good are SR MBPs at video? A lot of people say to get the pro over the mac book, but don't they have the same FCE performance (no video card is necessary for FCE performance, right?)
Also, is there only one Firewire bus? Do I need to have an express card firewire connector to get max performance with the DV deck and external drive so they dont share the same FW bus?
How much worse is the MBP than a mac pro at basic and intermediate FCE editing?

hhhmm the mbp is a lot faster than the mb. at basic editing levels the mbp will sufficce, it is a really powerful machine.
as u kno there is 1x fw800, n 1x fw400, if u have a fw800 external hdd run it off tht port, and the dv camera off fw400. u wont notice any slow downs
