I've been using MacOS Ventura for sometime and Safari is my primary browser. However, I had Brave as my secondary browser and noticed that Brave feels significantly faster than Safari in day to day browsing. I did a benchmark test and saw that Brave scores a lot higher than Safari in Ventura. I guess this is probably because Safari gets updated only when there is a new MacOS coming out? This gives me the question, how good do you think is Safari in Sonoma? Has anyone done any tests?

Try: https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.1/

There were some results posted in a thread. Try the latest Safari Tech preview on Ventura and post and hopefully someone can post what they see with the latest beta.

I'm not testing Sonoma. I'm still on maOS 12.6.8 and will likely jump on Sonoma release or .01.

Even Browserbench 2.1 is all over the place in terms of results. I just ran it twice back to back and the second run was over 100 points lower despite the tests completing in less time.

I tried using safari to 16 (I still use Monterey) for a while, and found it’s a bit more laggy than 15.x. It’s just less spontaneous. Finally I restored the whole system to downgrade.
