I'll take it from two viewpoints, easier that way.
From a personal, human viewpoint. Stunning, much better than the MBP. Better viewing angles, better color saturation, darker darks and brighter whites. Profound, almost OLED-like color vibrancy.
From a technical standpoint, the MBPs all use the LCD technology known as TN. TN has poor viewing angles and not nearly as proficient color saturation as the IPS panel found in the iPad (top of the line, why Apple cinema displays cost so much). IPS panels have more transistors, so they produce much better color.
So from both a personal and technical standpoint, it's solid.
