so far from what ive read from post is that navigon is probally the best navigation app for the iphone. But how great is the re-routing? Is it like any other app or is it different? does it re-route you immediately if you miss a turn? Thanks

It'll wait a few seconds, which is useful in case the gps has a bit of a moment and thinks you have carried on when you should have turned for example... but will then very quickly recalculate a route.

I'm very happy with navigon overall, the latest update made it even better!

Re-routing is on par with any other program I've used and standalone PNDs. Pretty much as soon as you miss a turn, it takes a few seconds for the program to figure out you went off course, then it creates a new route almost instantly.

That being said:

Navigon has a tendency to try to force you back to your original route, which is fine 95% of the time. Sometimes however if you have changed course because of a detour, it will try to lead you right back.

Personally I prefer the routing and re-routing done by TomTom. Speedwise the re-routing occurs just as fast, but the quality of the routes tends to be a bit better. At least in my area. YMMV

Navigon's routing/re-routing is good and very fast ... although what lordhamster says is true, unless traffic comes into play ...

yesterday, i was about 10 miles from home and fastest is typically highway unless there is traffic ... i let Navigon loose ... it first suggested highway, but then announced that it was checking for althernate routes due to traffic, and immediately sent me down my preferred surface road option ...

very satisfied

The traffic thing is friggin' awesome. Thus far it has already saved me at least 30 min of being stuck.
