How hard is it to keep setting as before for an update

Minor upgrades to IOS seem to want to to reconfirm settings, and then worse, will change other settings on the fly (iCloud related).

How hard is it to update and simply keep all settings as before for iCould, for backups, for appleid, for location services. Just update without the need to go through and see what apple have changed now.

Can you elaborate? When I've done the minor updates,i don't think I've seen any settings changes as a result, with the exclusion of when the update includes some new feature or significant change to a feature.

The last update I got was 10.1.1, and after update you get the new welcome screen on the phone, asking what services you want enabled. Then found some iCloud settings were enabled. I updated to iOS 10 a few months ago when it came out, so to me that's a minor update a few days ago.

My daughter's phone is the same, and we're pretty sure it's iTunes that seems to set things, I know as I've disabled settings a few times.

Once in a while an update will ask to verify a password or offer to enable or use something, usually with an easy option to skip that, but it doesn't seem to happen often. It does seem to differ from device to device and person to person though as to when some of these things might come up after an update.

As for the offer to enable somethings, things like location services?, that I already use and always have. Or hey siri that I turn down each time, same with iCloud for document sharing. Tell me once, not pester on each update.

"Pester" seems to be the way of apple now. Like the updates themselves. Daily reminders when travelling abroad are not helpful, and I don't want to update away form home just in case something goes wrong.

Update reminders are typically if the update has already been downloaded. If you delete it from storage you shouldn't be getting those update reminders.
