Gaming consoles are still as rare as toilet paper was back in 2020 and the wait for a new car these days is nearly as long as it was in the Soviet Union, but somehow new iPhones and iPads are plentiful.

Clearly Apple has done something right (and exceptional) in securing their supply chain, but what is it that they're doing that Sony and Ford apparently can't?

It’s only a matter of time before Apple sadly become affected by the shortages too.

All commodities appear to be in short supply so it is not unique to technology. All of the information seems to point to the shortages worsening as we go deeper into the year, so this problem will not be resolved anytime soon.

Even Apple already has been in a way. The announcement and release of the iPhone 12 series got pushed back to October and November back in 2020.

They already are. Look at production times for some macs. The $4000 pre-configured Mac studio already on 7 to 9 weeks!! Apple prioritise the iPhones since those are their main bread and butter.
