Mine started with a slight flicker every five seconds or so when awaking from sleep. After a few minutes it would clear up.
Over a period of a week, it got worse, to the point of seriously alarming, even after cold booting the cheese grater. "Oh no, I am going to need to get a new graphics card."
SALVATION
If course. The ol' turn-it-off-then-turn-it-on-again procedure solved the problem. Not the computer. The monitor. I unplugged the power cable for the monitor. The decisive step was the next one. I plugged the monitor in again.
Flicker gone.
No touch of the cable from the graphics card. No touch of the computer power cord.
Happy days are here again.
