Hi, I am looking for a bluetooth 3-button mouse. Comfortable to use with ultraportable. Any suggestions? Does the Apple Magic Muose 2 work well under Windows/Linux laptops?

Wonder if Trackpad 2 would be better.

Never tried, but I think the drivers for W10 would be lacking, might be better to look to Logitech as I think they offer a BT trackpad, much will depend on your use.

I use multiple; on the road/in the field Microsoft Precession, Gaming Alienware AW959, I also like trackballs and have a Logitech M570 and will upgrade to a MX ERGO very shortly. Favourite is the ROG Spatha, however at the mouse predates my GL703GS the SW is not terribly compatible

The Microsoft Precision is great all rounder, excels at productivity, can even game with a few tweaks, on the larger side mind but that works for me :)

If you want something *really* portable there is the Surface Arc mouse, which will collapse completely flat. Otherwise have you considered the Razer Atheris or the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S ?

I believe Apple Trackpad 2 will only work in Windows 10 under BootCamp by default. I have seen some instructions on how to make it work under Windows 10 on a PC, but likely it isn't going to make you happy.

I use a Logitech MX Ergo trackball that I really like. My wife the Logitech MX Master S2

I like trackballs and have had a few over the years, might pick up a Logitech MX Ergo trackball or an Elecom trackball as they have a pretty extensive range. Looking to be able to switch DPI and have a lot of control. MX Ergo will likely win out as it has the higher DPI and Bluetooth

That was why I went with the ergo. The "precision mode" or whatever they call it worked for what I needed as far as the fine control. I also wanted to be able to use Bluetooth rather than the Logitech dongle. It works for me because I find I have to move the mouse around too much for my liking and seem to have better control in my thumb than trying to do the same task with moving a mouse.

I am using MX Master S2 on my desktop and Anywhere on my mbp 2010. I think surface arc only has 2 buttons? Want a 3 button mouse. May use it for CAD.

Ergo is too big for traveling IMO, I might pick one up for home use although I'm pretty satisfied with the MD Precision & AW959 as they both have deceit SW control that's not intrusive and the usage is solid. I like to be able to switch between multiple DPI on the fly and both mice can do seamlessly.

Yeah, it's a beefy trackball, particularly if you use the extra couple of bits you can add to increase the tilt angle even further as I do. Better suited for a desktop environment for sure.

Have you ever tried the vertical mice such as the Logitech MX Vertical? That is something I am not sure I could ever get used to :)

A colleague swears by one, I'd rather find the space in the bag for the trackball, or just minimise the movement with a high DPI.

I think the basic works well for most. MS Precision looks pretty good as well.

My wife just purchased herself the Arc Mouse for travel. I will have to give it a go since I have only played with it briefly in store. It seems similar to the Magic Mouse 2, but with a better curve when arced. The Magic Mouse 2 seems to continue Apples horrid ergonomic trend with mice. Slim and sleek, but better suited to a paw than an actual hand :). Hey Apple, ever notice hands are naturally curved and not flat? Hmmm

MS Precision is one of those rare things that, under promises and over delivers; connection is near instantaneous, never drops, superbly ergonomic, all buttons and wheel are on point. Competitive gaming no, casual gaming pretty good for a BT mouse, obviously on the larger side. Microsoft have always produce very decent mice and the MS Precision does not disappoint. I'm too busy with such input devices, so I'd rather sacrifice space in the bag, than sacrifice poor ergonomics & functionality.

My Magic Mouse ended up in the trash as nobody in the house would use it due the hopeless ergonomics, industrial design my ass...

I have stuck with the Microsoft Arc Mouse. To me its comfortable and the fact it flattens for storage is a nice touch.

The Arc mouse has no physical buttons but a touch pad (left and right click, scrolling and middle click with 3 fingers). The video claims that there is no middle-click but that is not true. The middle-click is accomplished with 3 fingers (as stated in the comments under the video).
