You're probably not the only one but with DP2, it is pretty much the same as Mavericks. I have been using Photoshop, Illustrator and downloading Office for Mac + Premiere Elements 12 for about 3 and a half hours with 67% remaining.
Battery life was terrible in DP1 though.
Well the battery icon has been redesigned to be much longer than in Mavericks, which means that you gain about 20% by installing Yosemite.
In all seriousness though, I haven't really tested it on my 2009 MBP, because it was too slow to use and would simply end up frustrating me. I installed DP2 yesterday on it, it's better but I can still see a few red processes that affect my performance largely. Once this is gone, I might be able to test it out. If anything, battery performance should be <= what you see in Mavericks, because they haven't worked it out in Yosemite like what they did in Mavericks (Time Coalescing).
Battery life has improved from DP1 to DP2 but it still isn't where it was in Mavericks.
I have not timed it yet but my battery indicator would show 13 hrs or more in Mavericks whereas it shows 9 and under on Yosemite.

Have a look in Activity Monitor; a number of people have noticed the UserEventAgent process eating up huge amounts of processor time, which will lead to slow downs and more power consumption (in this case, battery consumption). If you notice this process misbehaving, then you should be able to quit or force quit it from Activity Monitor to get things back to normal, but before you do you should profile the process and send the resulting report to Apple at http://bugreport.apple.com so they can get this fixed.That's great. However, it's draining so fast in my latest MBA...
For any beta I'd recommend enabling a CPU monitor, there is one in Activity Monitor, as it will show you if you're suddenly seeing high CPU usage, at which point you can have a look in Activity Monitor to see if you can find the culprit.
That's great piece of advice. However, after updating to beta 3, things seems bit normal.
I'm getting about 5 hrs playing 720p video on my MBA.

Battery life is significantly worst than Mavericks

This might be true. Got lousy battery life upon first install of Yosemite PB5, but now after a full day and a half, I'm getting about 10 hours or so.
I hit the 11hrs yesterday. 3/4 brightness and no keyboard brightness on.
3 tabs on Safari, 6 in Opera and a pages document open.
Glad you mentioned this for those having early issues.
I don't know man, I always get insane battery.
