I have a 2019 13 inch mBP 8gb ram running mojave and i really want to upgrade to big sur for work related requirements and im just wondering if anyone here is running big sur on this macbook. is it much slower than mojave performance or nah?

I don’t think you will notice any slowdown. The hardware determines the perceived speed much more than the operating system.

I’m running Big Sur on a 2019 MBP and have not had any issues since 11.4. I’d say you’re safe to upgrade if you are looking to get some new features and software support.

I'm running Big Sur on a 2015 13" MBP and it runs just fine, no noticeable slow downs, even during heavy multitasking. Your MBP will do just fine.
