Just curious for some data points. I have a M1 Pro and if I load a site like macrumors.com and swipe scroll with the trackpad, it is a bit stuttery and not smooth like Safari is on the same site. Speaking specifically about on the internal ProMotion display. I am wondering if this is a limitation of my system in some way and if the M2 or Max variants perform better with scrolling/ProMotion. Any Chromium browser would work so if you have experience with Brave or Edge I'd appreciate that input too. Thanks!

When scrolling the Forum list, my M1 Max gets:

  • 70 FPS on Chrome, 110 FPS on Safari in the built-in display.
  • 53 FPS on Chrome, 58 FPS on Safari in the external 60Hz display.
Wow. I didn't notice that before.

Holy cow, so even with the Max you're going 110 FPS to 70 FPS, that's pretty crazy.
