The title says it all. But the main thing my MB Air would do is connect to an external HDD and watch movies (standard 700 MB type) that I downloaded from the net. Apart from that i would browse the net. How does it perform in these tasks? Does it start overheating?

How is the Rev A for watching movies and videos (non hi - def)?

you will have no problem with at all. I do so over my wireless connection with my Rev A. It performs perfectly.
Mine worked fine w. iTunes, Superdrive and ext. HDD & video playback. It was only streaming flash HD that made it hiccup after a while.
I was doing HULU.com which has HD movies and HDTV clips and complete HDTV shows as well. It was actually amazing, though the heat and fan issues were magnified. Temperature got up to 186ºF and the fan ran constantly at 6200+rpm...
Ran a bit hot and fan was running about 5000+rpm on regular 700MB movies...

While my intent wasn't to mock Scottsdale, perception is reality. A tongue in cheek joke may not come across as such on a forum.
There are strong opinions about the REV A vs REV B MBA's. Either version may or may not work for a subset of buyers and probably depends on your usage patterns.
At this point, there is so much back and forth bickering going on about the same issue that the spirit of the MacRumors forums being lost.
I personally feel that a search, or even a glance at the first page of threads, answers all questions about the advantages and limitations of either model.
Scottsdale did persuade ME to drop the idea of a REV A refurb and pony up the extra $ for a REV B. That's my decision based on MY budget and MY long term needs. It doesn't apply to everyone.
Fact is, a refurb REV A is still a decent purchase for most users at that price-point. To each one his own but the merits of each have been discussed ad nauseam in these threads and people are probably getting irritated by seeing the same information phrased a little differently in every MBA thread.
My apologies to SCOTTSDALE if any feelings were hurt. He's a valued member of the forums and very active in offering advice and opinions.

Looks like anirudh already received his/her rev A MBA. So, tell us anirudh, how great have your experiences been with the rev A MBA? How do you intend to use it? Will it be your primary Mac? How are you coping with the 36 GB of free space after you received your original MBA with OS X and iLife installed. Have you ever used the revised MBA for any length of time? What types of apps did you use? How does your original MBA perform compared to the revised MBA? Please continue to tell us all how your refurbished original MBA performs?
To play the devils advocate, if you paid top dollar for a machine that had significant issues which affected a lot of other Airs wouldn't you try to warn everyone off them? I know I would.

Anyways, ended up getting a month old 64gig SSD Rev A macbook air with extended applecare for 1200. Sweet eh!!!!
So far I just love it. Does what I need it to do perfectly. And all I do is browse the net, watch youtube, and movies that I download from the net. I have a 1TB external drive connected to it to shift all the movies and the other stuff that I download.
Had a black macbook, then a macbook pro and now an Air, and so far its my best machine.
Hows the spec see-thru case for the air? Coz I dont wanna end up scratching the bottom part of the machine. I think i'll take the black or smoky one.

The problem with those cases is they nearly double the size of your Air... The whole point of Air is small and thin. Mine has no scratches on it; I remember my MBP being all scratched on the bottom. I think since it's so light, it doesn't really create the friction to scratch. Anyone else notice that the MBA doesn't scratch up like the Pros?
Hey, how did you deal with your 36 GB of free drive space... I know you got the 1 TB external, but what software did you use to shrink your files/OS?

well, even though I did use XSlimmer on some programs Garageband, iMovie, iPhoto and stuff, i didnt follow the instructions on one of the posts here about slimming down the OS during the time of installation. As I said earlier, even though I dont mind 36GB, i just wanna be sure I am getting the maximum space out of my 64GB SSD (which is 59GB in reality).
But man, is it fast. I had a MBP which took almost forever to open iCal and Calculator. But the Air does it in one bounce. I guess its the SSD.
According to the videos, the speck doesnt add much bulk to the MB Air. Besides, they have a 50% discount going on for the Air See-Thru case. Some reviews would be appreciated.
