how is the sims 2 on the iMac?

im not really a gamer but i do love to play the sims 2. how is the game on the iMac? is it fast? when i get an iMac i want to buy some expansion packs for it. the sims 2 is ok on my computer but when i have more than one expansion pack its super slow! does anyone here play the sims 2 on their iMac?

well it is not intel native so it would run through rosetta
also many people are reporting that they cannot install it in leopard

i play the sims 2 on my mac
and its perfect, and the speed is very fast, and there should be no problems at all

Haha, I, in collaboration with my family, own all the expansion packs. UNFORTUNATELLY they are for PC.

Still, I love the game so much I am going to make a bootcamp partition just for it. My hard drive is more the sufficient and the only thing I need now is a copy of Windows for my use, which should arrive by tomorrow.


I'd love to play them on the Mac side, which I am already in love (switched barely a week and a half ago), but I already bought something else that was not cheap at all. Plus I already have all the expansions.

My wife and I play sims 2 on our iMac, but via bootcamp. It runs great under windows. BTW, not all the expansions are available in Mac versions. Actually, maybe it's just some of the stuff packs that aren't available. I'd love to play it under OSX, but it seems like there are always issues with the Mac version, plus I already have a bunch of expansions for the PC version.

I play sims 2 on my Al. Imac. Its perfect.

I have 20" 2.0Ghz.

Initially, lots of weird blue shapes kept littering the screen, even after i downloaded the patch for intel machines.

However, after turning off Optimized rendering, it runs just perfect. no lag wotsoever.

yeah it would suck to buy all the expansion packs again for the mac. i dont have a copy of windows xp for when i buy an imac. ill have to get that. i cant wait to play the sims 2 on a fast computer!
