How is the Steam game compatibility under OSX?

I've never given Steam a try in OSX and have used my PC desktop for all my gaming. I'm looking to get rid of my desktop entirely and will most likely move to a 15" non-Retina MBP.

So I'm curious about how many Steam games are typically OSX compatible or do most of you simply run Steam in boot camp entirely?


I don't even game that often but some of the following are games I like to load up in Steam when I'm in the mood for a few rounds.

Counter-Strike 1.6 or Source
Fallout 3
Mass Effect 2
Grand Theft Auto series
Half Life 2

CS1.6=no CS:S=yes
Fallout 3=no
ME2=no
GTA= yes and no, all GTA3 games (3/SA/VC) works, GTA 4 does not.
Half Life=yes

All games make "steam play" works on both mac and PC.
