How is Vivid running on MacBook Pro M1/M2 Pro/Max 16"?

Hi, I read that this app could increase the brightness of the M1/M2 Pro/Max MacBook Pro 16". How good is it? Will using it long-term to increase the brightness of the screen to 600-1000 nits damage the screen?
