How long are iMessage audio messages stored for?

In iOS, we are given the choice between keeping audio messages for "2 Minutes" or "Forever". There doesn't appear to be such a setting to choose from in the Messages app in OS X. Does anyone know how long audio messages are stored for in Yosemite?

Actually, if I don't Keep them and let them delete off my iPhone, they also automatically delete from the iMessages on my iMac.
