How long are txt message convresations stored??

How far back are txt message conversation stored on the iphone?? Just curious. And do they take up much space?

I think they are stored until you delete them and store 75,000.

I believe they're stored as long as you want, and no they don't take up much space, unless you're an unbelievable texter.

as much space is left. But after about 20 "See older" pages it gets a little slow

Longest running I have is from 12/14/07 (gf gave me the 2G for my bday) to 12/20/08 (GF moves to Thailand) Carries over to new phones and won't delete unless you do it yourself.

rather than make a new thread i thought i would just post my question here.
i JB my phone but once 4.0 comes out, i might not want to JB anymore.
is there a way to remove all the JB files but still keep my texts and other information?

just back up your phone...when 4.0 comes out update and it restores everything
