i see many more posts on glitches and bugs of varying kinds and complaints about 3.1 than i see posts praising it, which is unusual for a firmware update. usually i wait for these things counting down the days... this one has left even me disappointed by the number of issues i am having with it.

how long ya figure before they put out a 3.1.1 update fixing some of these issues? i bet there is something by the 9/25 MMS launch.

Always the jokester. :)

We probably will get an update within the month, OP, IMO. I think they rushed out 3.1 for the event.

I'm not joking. The iPod touch is at 3.1.1. It's not any different from 3.1 as far as I can tell.

I know, but you knew what the OP was talking about. :)

I understand but I can't see why they would release 3.1 for iPhone and 3.1.1 for iPod touch and then go to 3.1.1 for iPhone with different changes than the 3.1.1 for iPod touch.

Hope that makes sense

The next update will be 3.2 for both iPhone and iPod touch at the same time.

Or maybe 3.1.2. Either way I don't really see a problem with 3.1. It works fine for me. I'm just waiting for 9/25 to roll around.

A friend of my brother said his mate know a guy who knows a guy who once talked to a guy who worked at Apple, and he said to me that 3.2 is the next version and it's coming out 24th of September. It will bring much requested features such as a toaster and microwave! Tell everyone!

Huh? Who has dead phones?

There seems to be an on going (and I've experianced too) of phones becoming unresponsive after an upgrade. Sometimes a DFU restore fixes it (so far it has for me), sometimes it doesn't.

There is a thread somewhere here over 5 pages long.

As of now, I have our iphone users at the office holding off on upgrading their phones.

iPhone 3G? That's what you get for using outdated tech. ;)

Yup, it's Apple's latest tactic to get people to upgrade! They tried ads and flashy new features, but now they must resort to force! :p

Haha...I'll upgrade when they come out with a device that's more of an "upgrade" than being able to launch apps 1/10th of a second quicker! 3GS just wasn't much of an upgrade for ME and I'm not eligible for an upgrade yet anyway. By the time I am, I might as well just wait until next June/July for a model that's hopefully a REAL upgrade :)

That's a pretty stupid thing to say considering you returned your 3GS to revert back to your 3G.

I returned my 3GS to go back to my 3G running 2.2.1. The 3G is great on 2.2.1 because it was made to handle that software. The 3G sucks on 3.0/3.1 and it's probably going to keep on sucking until you upgrade to better hardware.

Did he tell him this while having pizza?

I'm confused.. weren't you getting a new touch and a GO phone? and your 3G was broke? I can't keep track of you :)
