I'm looking into getting one of the new 27" core i5 iMac and was wondering about how long it will take for the new models to start showing up in the refurb store.

Also I would mainly be doing iPhone app development on it, would I see much benefit from the i7 over the i5? Or even the i5 over the i3 for that matter?

Thanks for the help!

Usually 1-3 months after the update but why not to buy the 2009 refurb now? It's about as fast as the current gen is

The only reason why I was hesitant on buying a past gen refurb system is because of the upgrade in the video card with the current gen, I would probably be doing some gaming as well and with a resolution that large I feel like it would be best to get a gig of vram as opposed to 512mb. When it comes to gaming that half a gig will make a pretty large difference correct?

It does provide better performance so it's up to you, do you think it's worth the wait and extra $? Look at the orange bar in that test, it's with new, unreleased drivers.

You wont need that power for iPhone development - I was doing it on a Mac Mini and the only issue with it was I wanted the larger screen

im new to this and im also waitning for the new imac refurbs, and for what i have read evenehough they might seem the same, the new 1gb video card seems to have great OverCLocking posibilities doesnt it? some people have OC it to a pretty good standard.

this is the only reason why im waiting to the refurbs, im planing on playing Fable 3 on this so im waiting :)
