This is something I haven't seen talked about anywhere else and I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one experiencing this.

Sometimes after not using the AirPods for an extended period of time (with AirPods stored in case) it takes about 10 seconds from the time that I open the box to when the window shows up on my phone.

As I think about it it could be that this is only happening when I'm outside of Bluetooth range of the AirPods minutes before opening the case, so I'll definitely watch out for that in the future.

About how long does it typically take for the window to show up on your phone?

Same but as long as they work and pair I wouldn't fret Mine went a few days in laptop bag without being as much touched. Opened them and stuck them in my ears and voila I was ready to go.

From my uses, stand by time is fairly impressive with the Airpods. Best product I have purchased since the Apple Watch. (Among many other great products I own from Apple.)

Mine and my wife's are the same. After a period of not opening the case, it can take around 5-10 seconds to show the case/AirPods battery life when opening the case. If I then close the case and re-open it, it's instant to show me on my iPhone.

Yah definitely not instantly if you don't use them after an extended period of time. Mine has a slight delay at least probably 5 sec or so. I'm using an iPhone 6s plus latest iOS

same with me. if i open the case after an hour or so it takes roughly 5-10 seconds to find them. then if i close them and reopen the case it instantly finds them. i reached to apple and they said it’s normal but most people connect to them instantly. all i want is just open the case and put them in my ears.
