i've been using it since ios 13 dropped, but it still hasn't "learned" my patterns and optimized charging doesn't activate...

how long did it take for you guys?

I think for me it was two weeks of very steady daily charging regimen. I actually didn't realize it was working at first, but then happened to look at the battery charging info in settings and saw the telltale "plateau" at 80% through much of the night.

huh. so it doesn't tell you when it starts working? interesting. how do you see the charging info?

It shows a notification on the lock screen while it's charging, but nothing once it's done. I didn't realize this at first, ao obviously I saw nothing in the morning when I picked it up.

Check Settings - Battery - Charge Level after you're done charging the phone and you will see the plateau if it's working (far left in the screenshot below).

so apparently it does work! what's strange is that after plateauing at 80% it picks back up around 5-5:30am, and reaches 100% around 6am, which is about 2 hours before i wake up.

and also the photo app is doing something in the background while i'm sleeping))

Mine has yet to learn, lol.

I figure it will just happen when it happens, not letting it bother me. I also tend to go off my schedule pretty often as there are times where I have travel for work and I usually do top ups to ensure that I have enough juice before leaving.

yea, no one's on a 100 consistent schedule(hopefully), it's just if the tech is meant to prolong the battery life, i wish it wasn't sitting on 100% for 2 hours, when that's exactly what this feature is supposed to be avoiding :)

I’m ready to give up on this feature. For me it doesn’t do anything. I upgraded to iOS 13 when I purchased my 11 pro max. I only charge my phone at bedtime and I take it off the charger by 6am everyday. I do not charge my phone during the day at all. Here we are in November and it’s been the same charging schedule since day 1 and my phone still sits at 100% all night long. 3 weeks ago I turned off the feature and then turned it back on the next day hoping it would start fresh but it’s still not working. I don’t get what I’m doing wrong but I’m tired of trying to figure it out. I can’t think of a simpler method.

ugh, i hear you. if this system is so smart, why doesn't it take into consideration, i don't know... what time the alarm is set to?!

apparently after 1 month it seems not to work yet on my 11 Pro, while it is working just fine on my wife's XR.

it is wise to take 2 hrs as a "safety buffer" in case of variations on your daily habits.

same situation here.
It just doesn't work for me, maybe because I have some variations in my daily habits.

if you say so... i'd rather my phone didn't sit on 100% for 2+ hours with this feature)

btw my charging has a lot of variations too, so that's not the issue, i think
