How long does it take to fully switch to ATT (iphone)

Today i went to the apple store and bought an iphone. I have previously used verizon as my service provider and i was truly amazed at how fast and easy it was for the people at the apple store to switch my verizon phone number to ATT and for the phone to start working.

However, as of right now, text messages and calls and emails are still getting sent to my verizon blackberry phone. How long does it take for ATT to fully come in to effect. How long will calls keep coming to my blackberry. I can make calls and text message people from my iphone, but when they return the call or text it goes to my blackberry.

Do i need to call apple or ATT or just be patient???

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

It took about four hours for me to fully switch from verizon to AT&T.

so far i have noticed that my friends with ATT who have texted me have made it to my iphone, however those of my friends with verizon service the texts still go to my blackberry.

i will be patient and see how things go tomorrow, if anybody else wants to add their input on this it would be much appreciated.

I remember when the iPhone first came out it took up to two days to fully switch their number from Verizon to AT&T.

I just received a message from ATT on my iphone that says:

Your old service provider cannot validate PASSWORD on your number transfer request. To resolve go to www.att.com/port


problem is that i have no idea what my password was on my old service provider!

Im having the same problem! I can talk on the phone now, but i cant recieve texts from other carriers.
I got a message saying that I could now recieve calls this morning. I can use my phone now, but I cant text
