I dropped my MBA rev. A last week (jun 23rd) to the Michigan Ave Apple Store.

I keep checking the online repair status page, it only shows "repair in progress" since then.

More interestingly I dropped my MBA after they ordered and got the replacement parts for me.

Originally I was thinking they would fix it in 15-20min, but has been 7 days and still in progress.

I called store, but there is no live-person answering repair calls, it does give exact same information as the web-page.

I don't want to drive there if it is not fixed, but I need my computer for my work. :(

I had mine repaired last week in the UK. The actual repair only took 1 day.

I was very pleased because they replaced the entire lid and screen - so after 18 months - its like having a brand new MBA!!

perfect!

Ditto. My Rev A had > 1" of play earlier this year (wasn't really broken) and they replaced the screen and hinges within a day. it was out of warrantly and no charge.

Called AppleCare on mine and they shipped me a shipping box (included everything--even tape!). Shipped my Rev A out at 4:45pm on a Wednesday to the :apple: Houston repair center, had it back in my hands in Amherst, MA before 10AM on Friday, with new hinges, bezel, & magnet. That Thursday without was a long day, but the ease and speed of the repair was amazing! :)

Then what is wrong with mine? I am also out-of-warranty, but replacement approved before I left my MBA.

I guess they are busy fixing "iphone 4"s.

I thought they are fixing right on the spot, at least easy things such as replacement, they replaced my iphone 3GS's secreen in 15min.

I called the semi-local (40-minute drive each way) :apple: store to see if they would order hinges in advance so that I wouldn't be long without my Rev A. They told me that they now send all hinge repairs to the Repair Center anyway and recommended that I simply contact AppleCare myself and do the direct shipping. Their advice saved me time without my Air and trips to the store. Fantastic!

Ok, repair completed today. :apple: Almost 1 week just to fix hinges.

I had the clear film on my laptop, if they changed the whole screen, what will happen to my protection film???

I will go there afternoon.

Let us know about the film and i they gave you a new screen top lid. Also, did they scratch the bottom case/palm rests? Some folks say they get their mac back in worse condition then it was when they brought it in.
