How long does the iPad battery last? Well some one here said about 5 years. Also how many cycles is the battery good for? I hear the more you charge the battery it will not last that long as appose to say charging it only three times week than say every day.

Also I hear you cannot over charge the battery it will destroy the battery.

I had a 2018 iPad Pro around with still 82% of battery health after almost 6 years. Still working perfectly. It wasn't charged often, though, it only had around 350 cycles.

Yes, more cycles make the battery go bad sooner, but you also shouldn't keep it at 100% all the time as it increases the risk of bloating.

There is no risk of overcharging a battery, the battery management system won't allow that.

Overcharging iPad batteries is something that I find no reference for on this board. Where did you read this? The devices figure out when they stop accepting a charge.

There is no clear answer as to when a rechargeable battery will ultimately die but you can expect on ongoing slow decline in performance. Charging more often will likely wear the battery quicker plus the usual well known environmental factors come to play.

If the iPad is kept on its original iOS version, never. If it isn’t... it depends on how iOS versions impact the iPad.

For me, an iPad battery lasts as long as I'd care to use a specific iPad. Phone batteries get more wear, they're worn down at around 3 years but I've gotten 5 or so years out of a couple of iPads, and upgraded before battery was ever a concern.
