when summer is coming, my Mac Pro 6,1 is easy to shut down by itself after 100% CPU used. I notice that ambient temperature sensor is about 30 degree. am I alone?

Make sure all Fans, vents, and heat sinks are clear and clean.

After 8 years it could also do with some new thermal paste too.

is it shutting itself down, or is it just dying?

Realistically, unless your ambient air temp is outside of human tolerance, it shouldn't shut down at all, it should just keep throttling down performance once the maximum cooling has been achieved.

The system logs might say something.

GPU failure is the most common issue with the 6,1. Do you still have the original processor to test?

yes, I read the log before, the kernel panic is caused by different applications each time.

I do not have original cpu to run test, but this machine work well at winter at same scenario.

Buy and install iStat Menus and see what it's reporting about temps, fan speeds etc.

I bought it. And I try to find out which sensor reach the dangerous degree (including temperature, voltage and Power consumption. ) and could not see anything wrong.

Its probably a faulty motherboard (ram/riser card) rather than the cpu. I have seen a couple of 6.1s like that.... You can try swapping the ram or cpu but if the problem persists, it may be time to upgrade to a 5,1.
