how long is flickr usually down?

I haven't used it much before, and haven't ever tried to access it when it's down. Can we assume it'll be up by morning? I really hope so...

An hour before the notice of downtime there was an error for a few minutes where no pages could be viewed but the images were still up. They were most likely fixing a bug, not updating anything.

you're probably right, but I was led to think of new features by this:

We apologize for the length of this downtime, but we're making some big changes which will enable us to roll out new features faster. So ... it'll be worth it!
