I never even knew LCDs could suffer from image retention as I’ve never had it before. However my late 2015 iMac has this ghost image around the edge of the screen only. I dunno why as the stuff it has decided to burn in there couldn’t have been there for long.

I was gonna sell it as I’ve moved back to Windows, but this is an annoying spanner in the works :/

It's pretty likely that your 2015 iMac is out of warranty by now even if you had Applecare. There isn't a specific warranty for image retention.

You can look up the iMac hardware warranties for the time period you bought yours:

As noted, display issues are covered under the standard or AppleCare extended warranty. There is no "special" extended warranty coverage for display issues on an iMac like there is for the Butterfly Switch keyboards, for example.

That’s sad, never heard of lcd image retention before, I’ve had one lcd for 10 years and it’s fine. Usually they give you like 10 years coverage like Samsung does.... but of course Apple don’t. Anyways it’s my last Mac ever so I’m rid of them now, I’ll just have to sell it for less.
