I have a MBP(2012) 16gig of ram. I had done the upgrade to pb6 and everything worked fine. So now I want to do a clean install. I formated the drive and created a bootable usb, it is just sitting at the apple logo with the progressbar at half for 45min. I see no drive activity or usb.

It took me a little over 2 hours to get everything running. I did my download and install between 1am - 3am, eastern time. There were a couple of periods where my screen was blank and I was also questioning if anything was happening ... but I let it run and it completed.

I got it downloaded pretty fast, its the install, I did restart the process its been going an hour at half progress but this time the usb is "breathing" so there is some activity

I create a bootable disk on my 500GB Toshiba Extern Disk USB 3 - i installed Yosemite, in... Mayby 25 min on my 2014 MacBook Air SSD. I Think it going really fast, mayby i doing it wrong....?

On my college wifi, I started at 5pm and it finished DOWNLOADING the next morning. But afterward, since I'm on a 2014 rMBP, it only took about 15 minutes to install :D

I'm about to do a time machine restore. I really wanted a clean install since this computer had Lion>ML>Mavericks and in the beginning I was a noob to osx so I installed alot of scripts/programs and things I probably didnt need.

I decided against tm recovery. I use internet recovery, installed Lion and I will upgrade from that. the Lion install is just now finishing up.
