Hi, I am in the market for IMac, but not in much hurry. I waited so long so I can wait a little bit more. How much time does it usually takes for new (I mean just released) version to appear on Refurbished store? or Apple will try to push old refurbished models first?

Thanks.

so you are going to wait for the new iMacs to come out in a month and half, and then wait another 2+ months for a refurb of that?

sounds like a colossal waste?

what are you doing that you need a refurb of whatever is coming out?

you know, you have to pay sales tax on all refurbs -- but lots of places offer brand new macs with no tax and rebates -- making them effectively cheaper or the same cost than a refurb model

Thank you very much for your replies. We do not have sales tax, so if I can save for the same computer (characteristics) $300-$400 just for waiting couple of months , it works for me. :).

Does Apple typically discount the current gens once the newer systems are available?

Remember one important thing about the refurb store. Whilst you get about 15% discount on current models, as soon as the new iMac is released, this discount can jump to as much as 33%, to clear old stock.

That will be a great time to buy a refurb iMac, much like now is a good time to buy an April 2010 produced MacBook Pro.

Is there a chance that the price will lower further when the 2011 mbps are available as refurbished?
