I brought my 21in imac to the apple store on the 10th, was estimated 3-5 days. Today is the 7th day, I called them and was told the replacement screen haven't arrived yet.

Who thinks they are just ****ing with me for calling them out for giving me uneven colors on two consecutive 21" iMacs?
 
The delay is not on their side, it's with the provider of the panels, in this case with Apple if it's coming from their warehouse or with LG if it's coming straight from the manufacturer. You can try contacting them and asking over and over again but they can't do much for it.
 
I called applecare directly today. The dude on the phone said the store screwed up and there was no way the parts would arrive this late considering that it wasn't on backorder.

So the applecare dude called my apple store and told the store manager to switch my iMac for a new one.


The last time I was at the genius bar, i told the genius my iMac's brightness should be the same as my MacBook Pro's at 300cd/m^2, yet it's so much darker. The genius said the display is different, so looks different.

The imac display brightness update I got today fixed the brightness issue.

my apple genius = horrible
