hey all.

im just curious (and maybe a slight bit worried) about how long my macbook air should last on a full battery. it seems like it gets less and less all the time. its not my primarily used cmputer (i use my iMac mostly) but i still use my MBA most days whether it be in bed or on my travels to friends' houses etc.

when i do use it ive usually got a socket handy so its always charging and when its in the house not being used, its pretty much always on charge which means the battery running out isnt a big deal but the few times i actually don't have the MBA on charge it seems to run out pretty quickly. i do tend to run a lot of programs, however.

cheers.

I have a Rev A Air (refurb) and mine seems to run a good 3 hours under average use. I usually unlpug it when I get home from work and plug it back in when I go to bed - if I play games or full screen video the battery drains faster. There's a buncha threads with tips on maximizing battery life. Good luck.

surfing internet, wifi, checking email : about 3.5 hours

Check, longest I was able to get out of my Rev B 128SSD was just shy of 4.5 hours with backlighting at 50%, wifi on, bluetooth off, sound at 50%. I stuck to reading forums, posting, and viewing many differnt websites. I viewed some youtube, checked a few emails/resonded etc..

I have seen it go in as little as 2 hours, 10min streaming a movie from say Netflix or Hulu but typical for non video use would be 3.5. This imo is very good for the size/weight were dealing with. Sure 8 or 10 hours would be awsome but until some new nano tech battery or whatever comes out this is pretty dang good.
