how long should the batt last while sleeping?

I have a c2d mbp 2.16 and the battery drains within a day of continuous sleep. I know that my Powerbook Ti can last up to a week while sleeping. Is this drain normal?

No that is not normal. However, Im not sure if your settings affect your battery life while sleeping bluetooth, energy savers ect. I have a Stock MBP C2D 2.16. I lose about 5% battery over a 16 Hour period.

I'm having a simliar problem with my mbp c1d. Put it to sleep with 40-60 min of batt life remaining by closing the lid. Go to bed, wake up, and open the lid, and it says it's on reserve battery power (or less than 10%). Not so cool.

Battery warrenty?

Yeah not looking good, my mb 2.0 c1d did the same thing since i first bought it last June. The battery just died last week and apple sent me out a brand new one. What do you know, it now sleeps normally without draining the battery at some crazy rate i.e much like my G3 ibook once did

Might be worth giving them a call, the applecare guy seemed less than surprised that the battery had died.

Hmm I didn't buy applecare. Guess I'll have to find a repair shop and take it in, so that they can stare at it and have no better idea of whats wrong than my initial description. Hopefully they'll be able to hand me a new battery on the spot?

Even if you didn't buy Apple Care, if you bought the machine within the last year you can still do the same thing. Buying Apple Care just means you extend your coverage from 1 year to 3 years. Since you have a core 2 duo you are definitely still covered.

I was experiencing the exact same thing, and my battery completely went dead on me this past Sunday. Turns out, my battery was involved in the replacement program, even though it was not initially. Apple must have expanded this program.

Anyway, I put in the request to have my battery replaced on Monday on Apple's website, and had the new battery on Tuesday. Incredible turn around time.

Now, I have a brand new battery in a year old MacBook Pro. Not a bad deal!

Well it says my computer qualifies for the batter exchange program, but not my battery. I guess I'll give them a call, but it pisses me off that I can't do this on their site.
