I was experiencing the exact same thing, and my battery completely went dead on me this past Sunday. Turns out, my battery was involved in the replacement program, even though it was not initially. Apple must have expanded this program.
Anyway, I put in the request to have my battery replaced on Monday on Apple's website, and had the new battery on Tuesday. Incredible turn around time.
Now, I have a brand new battery in a year old MacBook Pro. Not a bad deal!
