How long till iWorks (numbers) is updated

Does Apple update thir software frequently, or will it be updated sometime next year with iPad 2?

Numbers- export/save to excel more fonts would be nice and better formatting of current Word files.

Mostly for excel as pages is for starting documents.

It should also include the option to export to Excel.
