I ordered a macbook 1.83ghz and had it next day aired so I would have it for the weekend. I get it yesterday and was happy until I realized the battery was defective. (The battery holds no charge - great impressions for a first time mac user)

I called up apple support Wednesday evening and they went through some tests and then scheduled a replacement to be sent. I was just curious how long the battery replacement took to arrive for those of you that have had replacements sent to them. (by the number of bad battery posts, I imagine there are a few) I'm just curious if I would get it before the weekend, or have to wait until sometime next week.

I brought my mbp with a defective battery to an apple reseller and a thursday afternoon and on monday morning, they called with the replacement battery in stock. Two-three business days would probably be a good estimate.

Holy cow ... I called apple's tech support last night at around 5:00 I would guess. We were on the phone for probably 20 minutes and it ended with her saying she was sending me a new battery (I have to send back the old one). I get home today and *pow* it is on my door step.

I was a little bitter about overnighting a new laptop just to have it be shipped with a defective battery, but man, apple's support seems to be right on top of things. It took Bestbuy around 8 working days to get my replacement battery for my previous laptop. I am a happy camper now. Time to dig in and see how this fancy macbook performs. :)
