Well today I just found out that I may possibly be jobless soon.

So anyways...I WAS going to upgrade my RAM, buy a new HDD, buy an External TV/Monitor, and an Apple wireless keyboard.

However...I'm thinking I may be better off buying a 21.5" iMac instead. According to Macrumors buying guide, its been 166 days since the last update, and the average is 220. Do you think we'll see an update this summer?

And also, do you think I could get $1500 for my Mac? Its an unibody Macbook Pro 15" with a 2.4GHZ CPU, 2GB of DDR3 ram, 250GB 5400RPM HDD, and a 9600m GT. It is in very good condition, there are just scratches on the bottom. My battery has 93% of its original capacity, and the Mac has Applecare until January 2012.

Thanks.

Is a new Mac really a priority if you are going to be losing your job

Did you read my post? :)

I'd be saving money possibly. I NEED to upgrade my Mac right now. It is way to slow. Buying an iMac instead of upgrading might be a better thing to do.

I think $1500 for your "stock" MBP is optimistic at best.

I wouldnt expect to see an iMac refresh until September.

And if you could get $1500 for your MBP today, by September you will not...

Im not sure how a 2.4 C2D MBP is "way too slow" -- maybe a reinstall would be in order? I might spend $70 on a 320 gig 7200 RPM drive, that would give you the most bang for your dollar...

Well, I'm going to want at least 500GB.
