How long will a MacBook sleep?

I just picked up my macbook this week. I used to have the 12" PB and loved it and so far this is making me even happier!

I left my house around 5pm tonight and got home around 9pm. When I left, there was about 30% battery and I left it on to let it drain. I came home, expecting it to be asleep, but instead it was completely turned off. I know that it can only sleep for a bit until the reserve battery power is used up, but it should be longer than 3-4 hours right?

What are your guys' experience with this? I could swear my old PB would sleep for a day or two!

I get about 0.75% per hour. Did you calibrate your battery? It may have said 30% but the actual could have been less.

a big factor can be your battery's health. a 30% charge could be very little if your battery's health is poor. i use coconutbattery to determine my battery's health.

I charged it completely and then let it drain completely when I first bought it a couple of days ago. I was doing it again tonight, expecitng it to sleep when it went to 0%. Maybe it did, I wasn't home, but it should have continued to sleep until plugged in for longer than 3-4 hours right?
