The max used to be 12. Did iOS 15 increase the limit?

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204506 says "You can add up to 12 cards on most devices, and up to eight cards on some older models." But I just added 13?!? And ADD CARD is not greyed out, and if I tap ADD CARD it prompts me to add additional cards including credit or debit cards.

My 12 Pro is definitely capped at 12 cards. I have 12 currently and tried to add another and was met with the "Unable to Add Another Card" message. It's my understanding this is to do with the secure enclave and isn't something that can be changed in software. It'll be interesting to see how much more this becomes a problem with them expanding the types of cards that can be added to wallet.

Hmm, i have 13 mini and a S7 Apple Watch, and both allow me at add more than 12. The Secure Enclave is only on the iPhone and Mac, correct? Perhaps if iPhone can handle more than 12 then so can Apple Watch.

I would not mind hearing how you use your cards and how they are different warranting that many cards in the first place? Are you a travel hacker perhaps? or have bunch of store cards? I think mac number of cards I had was 5-6 and that was including store branded cards, but I am down to 3, but only using really using 2.
